Ingredients
2 cups wholemeal spelt flour
1/2 cinnamon
3 teaspoons baking powder
100g butter (I use olive oil)
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 milk
1 cup soft pitted dates chopped
1 cup rolled oats
Directions
Combine spelt flour, cinnamon and baking powder. Rub in the butter. Add the dated. In a separate bowl combine milk, honey and vanilla and poor into the dry ingredients.
Mix to form a sticky dough. Sprinkle half the oats onto a working bench and place the dough on it. Flatten down slightly and sprinkle with the remaining oats on top. Roll out to about 2.5 cm thickness and into rounds. Bake on 200 for about 15 – 20 minutes.
