Ingredients
6 ripe plums
quartered and pits removed
1 cup water
3/4 cup of sugar (or splenda)
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon of vodka
Method
Combine all the ingredients (except vodka) in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until plums are soft, about 8-10 minutes. Stir until dissolved.Let chill for a while.Pour plum mixture in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth .
Let chill, add vodka and stir to combine. Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze to the manufacturers instructions.
Or freeze the mixture into a shallow pan, cover with plastic wrap .
After 2 hours there should be a ring of frozen sorbet begining to form around the edges of the pan.Stir the frozen portion and return to the freezer again for 1 hour more.
Repeat one time more.
Refreeze until firm.
